This sexual harassment training video provides managers with the information they need to ensure compliance with California AB 1825. Under this statute, all workplaces with fifty or more employees must undergo annual sexual harassment training and certification.
Sexual Harassment trainer Linda Garrett and attorney Brandon Blevins host this video. A series of likely workplace scenarios plays out in different kinds of work settings, with behavior and remarks ranging from the awkward to the outrageous, allowing viewers to judge for themselves if the examples constitute sexual harassment. The experts then dissect the scenes and explain if the examples do or do not meet the legal criteria of sexual harassment. The hosts also expand their discussion to take in such “grey areas” as hugging, compliments on a coworker’s appearance, dating amongst employees and the limits of joking.
A Trainer’s Guide ($29.95) is sold separately from the video, and offers guidance for an expanded class on sexual harassment, using the video as a supplement rather than the entire focus of the training. Providing questions the trainer can use to enhance the viewing experience, as well as suggestions for practical exercises, the guide also includes sign-in sheets, certificates of attendance, evaluation forms and a poster and brochure pertaining to California’s sexual harassment statute.
