Child Abuse and Neglect have been commonly perceived to be a matter of concern globally, with hundreds of thousands of substantiated abuse and neglect cases reported each year in the United States alone.
Program 2 of Recognizing Child Abuse focuses on the Neglect & Emotional Abuse of children. This course aims to teach health and social service professionals to recognize the indicators of abuse and neglect, and fulfill their ethical responsibilities of reporting such cases. Compelling reasons for them to develop awareness of the tragic epidemic that continues to haunt children are offered.
An overview of the subject and an in-depth analysis of how our system has become neglectful to children; is discussed in this program. The role of careless caretakers, physical neglect, emotional neglect and emotional abuse; the behavioral aspects of child abuse, including suggestive behaviors (learned behavior) in victims and suspicious behaviors of the caretakers are all covered.
