A common sense approach to confronting tough employee performance situations.

An inherent part being a manager or supervisor is dealing with tough employee situations. Sometimes it just seems easier to ignore the problem, rather than take the time and courage to confront the situation and get the employee back on track. This version for retail audiences features scenarios specific to the demands of a fast-paced, customer-driven workplace.

The Courage to Coach outlines a specific five-step process for coaching that will work in any employee performance situation. It begins with a critical first step--call it like you see it. You will also learn how to reach an agreement on the problem, develop an action plan for correcting the problem and follow up with the employee.

It's always easier when you can watch someone else first--which is exactly what this video training course lets you do. The video's stop-and-discuss vignettes actually show you easy-to-follow examples of many of the typical problems managers face. Got an employee who does great work, but their attitude makes them impossible to work with? What about managing someone who used to be your equal or someone who is younger than you? Or how about a "problem" employee who's just not getting the message? You'll find out the secrets to dealing with all of these circumstances.
